From new grad to recruiter to a global pandemic, this is Dhaara

Welcome back to another edition of KPG Healthcare’s Employee Spotlight! This month, we are highlighting someone from our Allied Professional’s Division, Dhaara!

Dhaara graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2019 with a degree in Business Human Resources and International Business. She began the post-undergrad tradition of applying to jobs but struggled with the concept of what she wanted to do. “I just know I wanted to find a role where I could learn and grow as a person,” Dhaara explained.

Eventually, her job exploration brought her to KPG Healthcare and after “a phone conversation with Zach [Allied Professional President] and a couple of interviews later, I knew this would be a good fit for me,” said Dhaara. Dhaara joined KPG Healthcare and the Allied Professional Division as a recruiter.

As a recruiter, Dhaara’s day-to-day can include screening qualified candidates, organizing a book of business or catching up with previous candidates. Although recruiting can be a tough job, Dhaara loves what she does, and “having great management and great teammates really makes a big difference.” Having a great team is one key component to success, but success can mean something different compared to others.

“I would say at the end of the day, helping people find their ‘perfect’ job is a sign of success,” Dhaara said, “I truly feel like a crucial member of the team and what I do is making a difference.” However, no job is truly complete without challenges and 2020 brought plenty of them.

The COVID-19 pandemic pushed and tested the KPG Healthcare staff by working tirelessly to fill hospitals with personnel while facing sudden lifestyle changes. “It’s been a challenge adjusting to working at home,” Dhaara mentioned, “it’s especially challenging when you have the whole family at home and a puppy who is constantly needing your attention.”

Even after a year of working from home during this pandemic, it is still a daily challenge to overcome the obstacles that constantly arise from this new COVID-19 day-to-day life. Coming into the office on days her family is home, taking breaks or stepping away from the computer during lunch are some of the productive alternatives for overcoming her COVID-19 challenges.

Recruiting can be a tough role that demands being up to date on the latest changes occurring within the industry such as licensing, qualifications and even laws. Luckily, Dhaara has always had a goal to be constantly learning, growing and developing new skills professionally and personally. Being a recruiter in the ever-changing healthcare environment is a challenge in itself, but it is also an opportunity to adapt, learn and grow.

“I wish for my candidates to find a position that brings them happiness and pride when they walk into work. I want them to enjoy their assignment wherever that may be.”

Outside of recruiting, Dhaara can be found spending time with her friends and her adorable German Shepherd/Husky mix puppy, Bear, who is almost two years old! During the pandemic, she has been partaking in lots of hikes, beach days, snowboarding and finding new restaurants to eat at.

Well, Dhaara, thank you for being part of the KPG Squad and for all the great work you do every day! Stay safe and give Bear a nice ole belly rub for us!
